Jacob Flores
Jacob Flores is a former U.S. national champion and accomplished American judoka whose competitive career spanned the 1990s and early 2000s.
Competing in the lighter weight divisions, Jacob established himself as one of the country's top competitors, winning U.S. National Championships in 1997 and 1998. He also claimed victories at major events including the U.S. Open and earned a silver medal at the 1998 Pan American Championships, along with multiple international podium finishes.
His years competing at the highest levels of American judo gave him a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed — from developing strong fundamentals and technical precision to building the discipline, toughness, and confidence required to compete.
Together with Leilani Akiyama, Jacob owns and coaches San Diego Judo — an environment where beginners, families, recreational students and serious competitors can train, grow and become part of the Judo community.
